Sugar mill staff attacked in UP's Baghpat district

The police booked 10 people for clashing with staff of Malakpur sugar mill in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district. The accused, including three employees of the mill's cane department, have been booked under section 307 (attempt to murder), 148 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) on the basis of complaint filed by the sugar mill's security officer, Devendra Kumar, said police.

MEERUT: The police booked 10 people for clashing with staff of Malakpur sugar mill in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district. The accused, including three employees of the mill's cane department, have been booked under section 307 (attempt to murder), 148 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) on the basis of complaint filed by the sugar mill's security officer, Devendra Kumar, said police.
According to a senior police official, three of the mill's employees - Sunil Kumar, Sudhir Kumar, and Ritesh Tomar, attacked cane officer Bhushan Kumar after he allegedly asked the former to not while away time and resume their work.

The accused called around 10 to 12 more people from their village to thrash the mill staff and created ruckus in the mill premises. The PAC personnel were called in to control the situation, said police. Circle officer Yuvraj Singh said, "Further probe is on."
